Climate change impact on water resources of Iraq (a review of literature)

Abstract Maintaining natural processes and supporting social economic growth depend heavily on water supplies. However, Future climate is predicted to bring higher temperatures, which will increase evapotranspiration; lower precipitation totals; changes in the seasonal pattern of precipitation. Iraq more vulnerable change than other nations due underdeveloped fragile management systems there, as well country’s desert warmer environment increasing sensitivity extreme weather events. The present work aims analyse literature dealing with change’s effects resources Iraq. Scopus database was searched using keywords (Iraq, models change, resources). Most study effect high temperatures evaporation different tools, most important are SWAT, LARS-WG, HEC-HM. analysis previous studies shows that results all concordant verge severe scarcity resulting decrease rainfall, evaporation, vegetation cover desertification.
